While modern electronics are subject to planned obsolescence, quality clocks and watches continue to tick away through the centuries.
My grandfather's pocket watch is still going strong as it approaches the century market. To my delight, ebay tells me the watch still has value. This is not surprising because people used to design products to hold value. This page lists resources for watch enthusiasts.
