Easter, a remembrance of the resurrection of Christ three days after his crucifixion on Good Friday, is the most important day of the Christian calendar.

The New Testament holds that the Crucifixion took place during The Jewish Passover resulting in rituals based on Jewish Traditions.

The date for Easter is based on a lunisolar calendar and is not fixed to the common Gregorian calendar. Different regions used different references; consequently different churches celebrate Easter on different dates. In 2017, Easter falls on April 16 in both the Eastern and Western Calendar. In 2018, the Western Easter will fall on April 1 and the Eastern Orthodox will fall on April 8.
