| Description | In the early days of the World Wide Web only a few people had access to the Internet at home. In these early days of online shopping a very interesting thing would happened: Some people would window shop at the stores on Black Friday; then buy their gifts online when they got back to work on Monday. The trend was so pronounced that the Monday after Thanksgiving was the biggest shopping day of the year for many online merchants. Marketers called this phenomenon "Cyber Monday." Now that consumers have their own computers the Cyber Monday effect has dissipated, but Cyber Monday is such a cool name that marketers still promote it. Many merchants have deep discounts and sales on Cyber Monday. |
