My Da Vinci dot com is my type of company. This firm will take a digital picture and render a piece of art in its likeness. The site will do pencil, or color pencil sketches from the image. They can even do full paintings. This is a great way to create a keepsake that you family will cherish through the generations. (and it keeps an artist off the streets).
In addition to the straight rendering of images, you can order pictures with a twist. For example you can have your face placed in the distinctive Mona Lisa background. You can have people or backgrounds moved, or changed, etc..
