Radisson Hotels
Radisson Hotels are named for the French Explorer Pierre-Esprit Radisson (1636-1710) who was an early trapper and explorer of the great frontier with the Hudson Bay Company.
The Hotel chain was established in 1909 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was acquired by Curt Carlson (founder of the Gold Bond Stamp Company) in 1962. Currently there are some 420 Radisson Hotels worldwide.
Carlson developed the Country Inns and Suites brand in 1987 as a midscale suburban brand.
