iFLY and SkyVenture
Indoor skydiving is a fun new sport that involves body air suits and vertical wind tunnels. The iFLY World web site listed 48 locations when I visited in May 2019.
This video advertises school visits for STEM education.
I could not find a page with a decent history of iFly. It appears that the company started as SkyVenture, which designed wind tunnels, and that they developed the brand iFly for expansion.
Both Riverwood Captial and KSL Capital Partners list iFly as an active investment.
- 1997: Skyventure filed a patent for the first wall to wall open flow tunnel.
- 1999: Skyventure opened in Orlando, Fl.
- 2005: the company rebranded as iFLY keeping the brand SkyVenture for design and manufacturing.
