Learning Care Group

The Learning Care Group manages early learning centers for kids from age six months to twelve years. Brand in the group include La Petite Academy, Childtime, Tutor Time, The Children’s Courtyard, and Montessori Unlimited.

Subsidiaries

La Petite Academy

La Petite Academy was founded in 1968 and has grown to over 450 schools across the nation before its acquisition in 2007 by The Learning Care Group which continues to operate the schools as a brand.

Childtime

Childtime was established in 1967 by the Gerber Products Corporation as Gerber Children’s Centers. Childtime current lists schools in 19 states (Az, Ca, Fl, Ga, Ia, Il, In, Mi, Mo, NC, Nv, NY, Oh, Ok, TX, Va, Wa).

Tutor Time

Tutor Time was established in 1988 in Boca Raton, Florida. It claimed to have over 200 school in January 2018.

The Children’s Courtyard

The Children's Courtyard was founded in 1986 in Arlington, Texas. It grew to over 50 schools throughout Texas before its acquisition by The Learning Care Group in 2006.

Montessori Unlimited

Montessori Unlimited listed 20 schools in 5 states (Oregon, Texas, Kansas, Illinois and Florida) when I visited the site in 1/2018.

Corporate Events

This section lists corporate events that I encounter in my other research.

2005: A large Australian company called ABC Learning acquired Learning Care Centers with the goal of creating largest early care center on the planet.

2006: ABC acquired 20 Tutor Time locations in Ca (Press Release)
2007: ABC acquired La Petite Academy.
2008: ABC was over extended and market compressing. It voluntarily liquidated.
2008: ABC sold 60% of its US holdings to Morgan Stanley

2015: American Securities completes acquisition of Learning Care Group.
Learning Care Group acquires 10 school Creative Kids Learning Centers of Nevada. (Press Release)
