Love's Travel Stop is an expanding network of stations offering fuel and amenities for truckers and travelers. The chain has over 500 locations. The corporation is owned by its founder Tom Love and has headquarters in Oklahoma City, Ok.

Love's subsidiary Trillium CNG is a network offering compress natural gas. Love's SpeedCo is a chain of truck service centers.

Corporate History

This is one of those rare companies that has steady ownership and a long record or organic growth. It appears that the company started playing the acquisition game in 2016.^1,2

• 1964: Tom and Judy Love opened their first store in Watonga, Oklahoma selling Kerr-McGee fuel as Musket Corporation.
• 1972: The company opened a "Country Store" in Guymon, Oklahoma.
• 1978: Company rebranded Love's Country Stores Inc..
• 1981: Loves opened a Travel Stop in Amarillo, Texas.
• 1986: Love's rebranded as Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores, Inc.
• 1990: Love's began adding fast food franchises to the travel stops.
• 1999: Love's opened its 50th travel stop.
• 2010: The FTC ordered Pilot Flying J to shed store as part of their merger. Love's acquired 20 Pilot Travel Centers and six Flying J travel centers.
• 2016: Love's acquired Trillium CNG which had 37 compressed natural gas stations. This brought Love's total to 65 CNG stations.³
• 2017: Love's acquired Speedco which is a chain of truck service station.⁴
• 2019: Love’s opened its 500th location.
