🠈 Water.com - DS Services 🠊
For over a century bottled water was provided by small regional suppliers. The water would often be named after a local spring source or the local mountain.
The internet age spurred a consolidation of regional bottlers as a company called water.com managed to dominate the top keywords for bottled water.
Water.com itself went through a series of mergers and the assets are held by a somewhat secretive firm called "DS Services of America."
Brands owned by Water.com include:
- Alhambra was established in Martinez, California in 1902 and became a leading water brand in Central California.
- Belmont Springs was established in 1876 when George Cotton bought land that housed a spring that had been a favorite water source of Native Americans for several centuries.
