Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by brothers Robin and Chris Sorensen. The brothers had followed their father into the career as firefighters and opened a sandwich shop in Jacksonville, Fl.
The restaurants started growing throughout Florida. Their first attempt at franchising went poorly. In 2001, the company developed a planned franchise program and quickly grew to over a thousand stores.
