VetCor - Veterinary Hospital Corporation
The veterinary business has been on of the business sectors to be rolled up into conglomerates.
VetCor is tackling the difficult challenge of rolling up veterinary business by creating a structure in which acquisitions are labeled "partnerships." The local partners are encouraged to maintain a local identity. VetCor had over 300 partners when I visited the site in July 2019.
The site has information on the company and solicits retiring veterinarians seeking to sell their business.
Corporate History
This section lists corporate transactions that I encounter as I research mergers and acquisitions:
- 1997: VetCor partnered with its first practice: Riverside Animal Hospital in Riverside, RI. .
- 2015: Harvest Partners and Cressey & Company recapitalized VetCor to accelerate acquisition of Veterinary practices.
- 2018: Oak Hill recapitalized VetCor which had grown to 272 practices.
