Audax Group

Audax Group is a Boston based financial firm established in 1999 by Geoff Rehnert and Marc Wolpow to create the Audax Private Equity which owns a variety of middle market businesses. Wikipedia reported that the company had $12 billion in assets in 2019.

Investments

The private equity fund listed over 120 investments. I grabbed the list to the right from their site. I have additional information on only a few of the investments. Oddly, I have encountered several press releases from sites claiming to have been financed by Audax that are not listed on Audax's site.

Corporate History

Audax owns several hundred companies. This section lists transactions that I encounter in other research:

• 1999: Company Founded
• 2004: Audax acquired Denver Biomedical
  • 2006: Cardinal Health acquired Denver Biomedical.
• 2004: Audax acquired Coast Crane Corp.
  • 2008: Northwest Capital Appreciation acquired Coast Crane.
• 2011: Audax acquired controlling interest in Advanced Dermatology.
• 2014: Audax acquired Wheel Pros based in Denver which they sold to Clearlake Capital in 2018.
• 2014: According to several sources Audax and Formation Capital recapitalized Compassus Hospice.
• 2016: Audax sold controlling interest in Advanced Dermatology to Harvest Partners.
• 2016: Audax acquired RelaDyne, a nationwide oil distribution service, from AEA Partners.
• 2018: Audax acquired PlayMonster from Topspin Partners.
