Warburg Pincus is a private equity based in New York City. They were founded in 1966. Their site claims to have invested in over 870 companies and listed over 170 active investments when I visited the site in September 2919.

Wikipedia reports that 140 of the investments exited Warburg with an IPO.

1939: Eric Warburg of the Warburg banking family founded E.M. Warburg & Co..

1999: Credit Suisse acquired the Asset Management division of Warburg, Pincus & Co. for $650 million.
