The Habit Burger Grill is a fast growing franchise offering gourmet burgers in a fast casual setting.
The chain was founded in 1969 in Santa Barbara, Ca. It gradually expanded in the Los Angeles region to 23 restaurants in 2007.
In 2007 the restaurant was purchased by the private equity firm KarpReilly. KarpReilly began a rapid expansion of the restaurant and raised $83M by taking the restaurant public in 2014 on NASDAQ with the symbol HABT.
The company listed 220 restaurants when I visited the site in October 2017. The picture below shows the Habit Burger Grill in Sugarhouse, Utah.
