CVC Capital Partners

CVC Capital Partners (formerly Citicorp Venture Capital) is a Luxembourg based private equity firm that had about $52 billion in assets across the globe at the end of 2017. Their portfolio listed about 60 active investments and over 200 historic investment.

The equity firm started as Citicorp Venture Capital. It moved to Luxembourg for tax advantages.

This article is a stub. It lists investments that I come across in other research. I put names that I found in their portfolio to the right.

• 1981: Citicorp spun off its Citicorp Venture Capital department as CVC Capital
• 1986: Otto van der Wyck left CVC to found Baring Capital Investors Ltd in London.
• 2008: CVC invested in Pilot Oil Corporation allowing Marathon Oil to exit the firm.
  • 2015: The Haslam family bought CVC's stake in the firm.
• 2011: Leonard Green and CVC acquired BJ's Wholesale for $2.8 billion.
• 2015: CVC and the Canadian Pension Plan purchased Petco
